Beautiful Broome
While staying at Derby we went back and forth to Broome. There wasn't any cheap accommodation in Broome, and it was way cheaper to drive back and forth. Broome has absolutely beautiful beaches, and the white sand with the sparkling blue waters were quite refreshing to see after no blue water for a while. Dirty, brown water was the general order around where we travelled.
We had fun at the water park at Broome. The water park was right on a beach, and it was the safer option because of stingers hanging around. Joel and I swam anyway and it was beautiful to float there in this lovely clear blue water.
We went to the Broome Musuem while at Broome. The memorabilia was very fascinating, with many artefacts left over form the war, including the planes bombed by the Japanese, are stored in this museum. There was also quite a shell collection, with many varied shells. It also had a bit about the pearl industry in Broome.

Places to visit:
Broome Visitor Information Centre: Hammersley St
PH: 08 9195 2200
Broome Historical Musuem: Robinson St PH: 08 9192 2075
Broome historical musuem was very informative, with the shell collection getting a good rating!! The size and variety kf these shells will astound you. Also has information on the Japenese Bombing, and artefacts from the planes have also been stored there. It was $19.00 for us all to go in there.
SSJG Heritage Centre Broome: 9 Barker St Ph: 08 9192 3950
The Relationships exhibition in the heritage centre was a fascinating glimpse into the pioneering life. Housed in the old covenant, it covers 100 years with thousands of photos. It also covers daily life of the sisters, mission history, and many other aspects. A gold-coin donation for entry.
Cable Beach:
Famed for the staircase to the moon (which we never saw), Cable Beach is a renowned beach. There was camel rides along the beach (which we didn't do either, glad as it crosses the clothes optional beach), that go along at sunset. We went for a swim (Saltwater crocodiles and stingers may be present) at the end of the beach, only ones that did.
Town Beach: Robinson St
The little girls loved Town beach due to the water park there. It was a great one, and apparently a safer option that swimming in the beach. The big playground just next to it was also a hit, with the girls having a ball. Joel and Bethany both survived their swim on the beach.
Family Eating Out:
Matso's Restaruant: Hammersley St
Ph: 08 9193 5811
Matso's had a bdeautiful outlook, overlooking the mangroves on the beach. The meals were a good size, and so were the bowls of chips/wedges. The service was good, and there was quite a few tables.
18 Degrees: Robinson St Ph: 08 9192 7915
18 Degrees was a good restarunt, with nice food. The prices were mid range, and the service was good.
Zanders: Cable Beach Rd Ph: 08 9193 5090
Sitting right on Cable Beach, this was a view! The food was alright, and the waiters were nice and friendly.
