Hillston Happenings
Our next stop after Condobolin was Hillston as Dad had work there. We went to Hillston Caravan Park, which was a nice shady place. The grass was green and we didn't have to put an awning up. It ticked all the right boxes. We were right next to a big park and river, which we all took advantage of. We went kayaking and explored the river frequently. We even paddled right into town.
There were some cheeky kookaburras outside, which somebody fed. It all brought back memories of a real cheeky one. We were staying at a beach house, about 2010, and having steak outside. There was a kookaburra there which the owners frequently fed, but we didn't. It must have been missing its food as when Josh sat down, the kookaburra swooped down and stole his steak! We were all shocked as we watched the kookaburra whack the steak against the tree a few times, and then start to dig in.
