Ever heard the saying: Mount Isa's built on the mines? It is a very literal saying. Nearly smackbang in the middle of town is the mine. On the way to Mount Isa, we popped 3 tyres. We also overheated several times on the way into Cloncurry as the Transit was pulling a big load. We got stuck in Mount Isa for 2 extra days, waiting for our caravan spares to be ordered in and our car overheating problem to be sorted out.
