Pointers on Parkes
We'd kindly been invited to stay at The Nashe's place and we certainly did not regret saying yes! We had a really fun time there and got to experience farm life at one of it's best. We rode on quads, shot bows and played. We had left our caravan at Gum Bend Lake and drove as we could stay in their granny flat. Beth found it fun to jump on a bed without the whole caravan rocking!
The next day we woke to the sound of cows and the girls were fascinated to see all the cows lined up at the gate, waiting for who knows what! Joel found a 1 year old newspaper and read it, not caring how old it actually was. There was also the biography of Ed's Father and it was very interesting to read.
The older kids luckily got the opportunity to ride their quads and had some great fun. After they had got an opportunity to grow confident with the quads, the girls took the three older kids around the farm, showing them how it's really done. They showed them their shearing shed. When they were exploring Beth and Joel got stuck behind the other quad and came back covered with a layer of dirt.
On the way to Parkes we stopped at "Utes in the Paddock". A local artist has done them up and they're fascinating!
