Tales of Tamworth
Arriving at Woolomin, Joel loved it. There was a river (Peel River) and he immediately wanted to know the fishing prospects. Woolomin was about 30km from Tamworth, a little country town. There was power there and we enjoyed using it!!
We drove out to Nundle and there visited the Woollen Mill and the museum.
We were going to go on a bush walk, however it was boiling, so instead we headed to the marsupial park. There were mainly birds there, including talking cockatoos, but we did see some emus. The cockatoos mainly said hello and you could pat a certain cockatoo. Joel stroked it, however when Bethany came to stroke it, Larry (the friendly cockatoo) bit her. There was also a board of checkers on the ground, and Bethany challenged dad to a game. However as the game was going on for too long, Mum had to put a time limit on us. We unanimously decided that Bethany had won.
We went to a trout farm set up in the mountains. Sadly I forgot the camera and did not get any pictures. The girls were also excited to see the famous 'golden guitar', though we only drove past it and did not stop. When Josh went to Coffs Harbour for his Orthodontist appointment we saw a play of Belle and the Beast. It was put on by Carinya Christian School.
We saw this amazing view of Tamworth from the Oxley lookout where we had lunch.
