Moments in Mount Gambier
After our unexpected hold-up at Naracoorte, we set off for Mt Gambier through Penola. We were only going to have two days there as we wanted to move on. We planned to cook slice and pancakes and sell them at the local markets. We had been recently been going round to the shops in the town and selling it. Bethany generally cooked fudge and the two boys cooked slice.
We went to the markets and set up. The heavens decided to open, but luckily we had a gazebo in the car. Joel was selling 2 pancakes for $3.50. Josh and Bethany were selling 6 pieces of slice for $4.50. To cut a long story short, we hardly sold any. The market idea was a complete failure. We were going to go to another market, but we ditched that idea and moved on.
We went and had a look at the blue lakes, which are in town. The water was the most stunning blue colour. It was amazing to read of the depth and dimensions.
